Hello everyone! Thanks for visiting my site. My name is Anna. I am a licensed acupuncturist, massage therapist, and certified Biofield Tuning practitioner. Currently I offer distance sound and energy work sessions from a small remote treatment space in the Portland, Oregon. We connect by phone, not video, for our one-on-one sessions.
Here are a few thoughts about why I do what I do and why YOU might find it helpful…
A lot of us have nervous systems that are a bit ramped up or on high-alert, and for good reason. Both epigenetic trauma and trauma experienced throughout the course of one’s life will affect how our nervous system self-regulates. Rapid technological advances, environmental pollution, institutional and other forms of oppression, overwork, and a disconnect from earth-based practices also causes systemic dysregulation. Acknowledging that we live in a far from equitable world, mutual respect and a commitment to justice for all living beings is a core value at the heart of my practice.
I operate with the understanding that ongoing stress can give rise to anxiety, depression, digestive issues, pain, insomnia, weakened immunity or even just a general feeling of overwhelm and inability to move forward on certain things. Untreated and ignored for long periods of time, this stress can lead to chronic illness. Remote energy work and sound healing technique can help the body remember how to heal itself with a greater degree of ease than what it may currently be able to access.
What is a distance sound and energy work session like?
For remote sessions we work over the phone. No video or computer is needed. It is beneficial to be in a quiet place where you can comfortably sit or lie down while receiving the work. During your session, we work together to locate and correct patterns of disharmony in the body and its subtle energy field, also referred to as the human biofield.
I use tuning forks, my hands, and other perceptive mechanisms within my own body to find patterns of disharmony in and around the bodies of the folks I work with. To me, areas blocking the flow of energy might feel like dense spots, they might also cause the tone of a tuning fork to sound distorted. When these areas of vibrational distortion are mirrored to the body it seems that the wisdom of your body is able to re-regulate in a way that improves well-being.
Broadly explained, this work supports flow, which strengthens coherence of mind, body and spirit. It supports the health and vitality of your system as an integrated whole. A wide range of benefits have been reported by folks receiving distance sessions and you can check out my Biofield Tuning page for more specifics on that modality. One thing to be clear on, however, is that energy work, distance healing, and Biofield Tuning services are not considered to be medical services. The information on this website, or offered in session, is not to be considered medical advice, nor are these practices to be substituted for mental health and primary care services. That said, this work can be a profoundly supportive addition to your regular wellness routine. To schedule an appointment, click here.
Still wondering how remote healing even works?
So am I! I really cannot tell you why or how remote healing techniques work. There are a lot of challenges to researching this field (pun intended). What I can say, is that as energy workers and Biofield Tuning sound healing practitioners, we consistently find, albeit anecdotally, that people report improved health outcomes from receiving this type of work. My motto is to continue to ask questions, be curious, think critically and also let your personal experience be the judge of whether or not something may or may not work for you.
Curious about what the term ‘Biofield’ refers to?
In 1992, at a US National Institutes of Health conference, it was determined that researchers needed a proper term to talk about phenomena they were encountering in the subtle energy fields within and around the human body. There, the term Biofield was defined as, “a massless field, not necessarily electromagnetic, that surrounds and permeates living bodies and affects the body.” In a 2015 study, leading researchers broadened that definition to consider, “biofields as endogenously generated fields, which may play a significant role in information transfer processes that contribute to an individual’s state of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.” The practice of Biofield Tuning, and other forms of remote energy work teach us how to identify blockages to well being and support improved flow and connection to one’s self, other humans, and the earth. Progressive scientists like Rupert Sheldrake and Beverly Rubik have been researching this topic for decades. Lynn McTaggart, Eileen Day McKusick are Shamini Jain are among other current voices publishing data on Biofield Sciences.

*Covid-19 Update: On March 17, 2020, Covid-19 related safety measures prompted me to shift my practice to a remote phone based practice. While I miss doing manual therapy, acupuncture needling, moxibustion, and craniosacral therapy in person and look forward to offering those services again in the near future, I am also excited at what I am finding possible within the realm of remote sessions and I am grateful for the opportunity to provide ongoing support to folks in this safe manner in a rapidly changing global health environment.
